Online Support
Getting students into college is not enough. During Year 3 of the program, US Empowered provides students with the tools to create their own support networks during the first year of college at their respective universities. Fellows participate in a year long course called College 301 that is led by their dynamic teachers from high school. This innovative curriculum equips students with concrete strategies to build systems of academic and non-academic support at college, provides a forum to share best-practices, and prepares students to seek financial aid during the final three years of college.
Program Directors work with students to track measureable outcomes and ensure student success at the collegiate level. Similar to the daily course during Year 1 and Year 2 of the program, the college retention course is research-based, outcome-driven and scripted to ensure all goals are met.
"US Empowered has helped me through it all, from junior year to now as a college freshman, and will still guide me until I graduate from college in 2013."
-Quentella, Class of 2013
