Application Directions

The first round of our application can be downloaded and submitted online. There are two sections in this round of the application: the paper application and the teacher recommendation. Both the paper application and the teacher recommendation must be submitted by the deadline. The first application deadline is June 15th.

Below is a checklist to make sure that you have completed the necessary steps of the application. Once the deadline has passed, we will notify you of your interview status. Interviews will be held shortly after the deadline.

Paper Application

  • 1. Download and fill out the Paper Application (from the left column).
  • 2. Save this and email it as an attachment to applications@usempowered.org. The subject of the email should be Application_First Name_Last Name.
  • 3. You will receive a confirmation email once we receive this section.

Teacher Recommendations

  • 1. Find one of your high school teachers (or school administrators) to write your recommendation.
  • 2. Direct them to the Teacher Recommendation page (from the left column).
  • 3. Make sure each teacher or administrator downloads the recommendation and emails it back to applications@usempowered.org. The subject of the email should be Recommendation_Applicant First Name_Applicant Last Name.
  • 4. You will receive a confirmation email once we receive your recommendation.
